"I am one of the directors at Community and a life-long lover of learning. My heart as a homeschool tutor and tutorial administrator is to work alongside parents to help cultivate a child's innate curiosity. I believe the foundation of early education is excellent literature! As a school librarian, my favorite part of the day was when the wide-eyed Littles came to class, energetic and excited to learn. Since then, I have missed pouring into that age group and, thus, this expanded Foundations program was born at Community! I am thrilled to be able to offer this delight-driven learning experience for early elementary homeschoolers that I hope will be an encouragement and enrichment in their homeschooling process. I only wish there was something like this when my kids were this little!"

Classroom activities will be based in Five In a Row and great literature. We'll review basic concepts in a fun way while also learning new ones via literature unit studies. Parents will receive a low cost supply list to purchase for their student after registration.

"I am one of the directors at Community, mom of 6 kids, wife, and Elementary Middle School Writing tutor.  After homeschooling for nearly 20 years, graduating two kids who have moved on to college, and tutoring writing, I have found myself returning again and again to those precious memories of early elementary lessons taught during the early years of school with my own kids and other parents.  I am forever grateful for those young days of sitting cross legged with a great book or hands on project to help my Litttles absorb information they now return to as adults and making memories we fondly remember. I am excited to come along side parents and revisit these activities, books, and lessons in our new Foundations 2 class. We are going to share many memories and lots of giggles and grins!"

“I have taught school for 10 years and everyday my passion grows to work with children and their great minds.  I am a hands-on teacher as I believe that living through the subject being taught will keep the students both interested and curious which will create great retention of knowledge. When I am not teaching children, I am teaching aerobics at Lifetime Fitness and hanging out with my beautiful family. I am married to a wonderful man and together we have 4 teenagers which keeps life very fun and exciting ! I am very blessed by my tutor position here at Community. Have your child come see what it's all about!
