To the homeschool dad.

To the homeschool dad who pulls the toddler out of the toilet and changes the baby so we can finally get around to grading that 1st grade math test, we salute you.

To the homeschool dad who takes us to Frappuccino Happy Hour when we have a few minutes to steal away, we salute you.

To the homeschool dad who is building yet another bookshelf, we salute you.

To the homeschool dad who says "yes" to all our kooky plans even when you don't really get it, we salute you.

To the homeschool dad whose dining room table is forever occupied by history projects, we salute you.

To the homeschool dad who gets wrangled into field trips to strawberry patches and petting zoos, we salute you.

To the homeschool dad who dares to attend the homeschool conference populated by bossy women, we salute you.

To the homeschool dad who sends us out to "make lesson plans" at the bookstore for a glorious evening alone, we salute you.

To the homeschool dad who teaches boys and girls alike to revere Jedi Knights, Avengers and Hobbits, we salute you.

To the homeschool dad who lightens the mood by making everyone laugh when we all just need to settle down, we salute you.

To the homeschool dad who assumes we know what we're doing and we don't need your input, we do. And, we value your words.

You put the "home" in homeschool because you bless us with your faith, trust, encouragement, inspiration and the finances to do what we strive to do. You pour into us so we can pour into them in this specific way and we could not do it without you, homeschool dad.

For every time you sacrificed your duct tape or stepped on tiny plastic counting bears or ate a unit study themed dinner or talked curriculum on date night or kept quiet during our denim jumper/keds phase, we salute you.

Happy Homeschool Dad's Day.
